Hi All,
I don't know if anyone else used Breeze and Wyles to act for them in purchasing their flat and had issues with them, but we did.
We found them fine until we actually completed. Our completion date got moved a few times (we were one of the first, if not the first, in the building) and it turns out Breeze and Wyles have given our mortgage lender the incorrect completion date. This has meant that we've been charged additional interest for around 10 days when we weren't even in the flat.
After trying to contact them since October (and getting no reply), i have now taken the complaint to the legal ombudsman. Breeze and Wyles have responded to the ombudsman advising that its not their obligation to ensure the lender has the correct completion date, which i find incredible.
Just an FYI to everyone to double check the date their mortgage started compared to the date you actually moved in. If you notice any discrepencies, you will have to raise it to the solicitor first but if you have no joy, like we did, then i'd definitely recommend taking it further.
cheers

Hi Hannah & Jordan,
I’m relieved to hear it’s not just me who has had issues with Breeze & Wyles – they made multiple errors during my purchase process and I have had problems with them since completion (too many to list here) and also raised a complaint with the legal ombudsman. I will certainly check the completion date/mortgage information, thanks for raising it.
FYI I have recently been in touch with the NHBC and they advised that it is your solicitors responsibility to complete their ‘acceptance of cover’ application. Breeze & Wyles obviously hadn’t done this so I contacted them last week and received the documentation today. I would advise you do the same – manish.patel@BreezeandWyles.co.uk dealt with my query.
Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear you're having issues with them too.
Thanks for the heads up with the 'acceptance of cover' issue, i think we will wait for this first complaint to be resolved then chase them up on this.
Since raising our complaint with the legal ombudsman they've said its not their obligation to inform the lender of the correct date, however, when I've asked why they've ignored us for over 4 months, they've lied and said they sent us a letter of apology which i find conflicting seen as they've said its not their issue.
We have also emailed Katey to advise of our experience and that maybe Crest should reconsider having Breeze and Wyles as a recommended solicitor, which she has passed on to the sales manager. Maybe if you email her too it may add weight to our argument and prevent further people experiencing their crap service.
I've spoken to our lender and calculate that we're £130 out of pocket in additional interest, so Breeze and Wyles have offered us £75 compensation. They are ridiculous.
cheers

Just an update...
I've received an email this morning from Stuart Girvan from Crest advising that we aren't the only ones to raise issues about Breeze and Wyles so they've terminated their business relationship with them.

Hi Jordan/Hannah – thanks for the update. It’s interesting as I spoke to Mr Girvan about removing B&W as a recommended solicitor last year and he said he hadn’t received a complaint before and they were a professional solicitors. Clearly not! ;P

Many thanks to both for the info. I will also check the completion date and for the acceptance of cover.
It was a nightmare dealing with Breeze and Wyles.
We were fined by HMRC as they did not pay our stamp duty after taking our money. They said they would take care of the fine but there is still a record in our name. Also it took them 3 months to pass on the cash incentive from our bank to us. And too many other errors to list
